Marta Alstadsæter was born in Norway, Kim-Jomi Fischer in the Netherlands. Kim trained as a performing dancer at Codarts and danced with DV8, Ann van den Broek, Ivan Perez, Panama Pictures and Arch8, among others. Marta Alstadsæter graduated from the circus program at Codarts in 2016. Since 2016 they have formed a maker duo.
Since 2017, the duo has been working under the wings of Dansateliers in Rotterdam. In addition, they collaborate with Dansearena Nord and the Arctic Arts Festival, establishing strong ties with Norway. Their performance ENGEL won the BNG Bank Dance Prize in 2018 and was selected for the prestigious festival Aerowaves twenty19. The performance has played over seventy times worldwide. In 2019, Marta & Kim were nominated for the 2019 Dutch Dance Days Prize. Together with partners Festival Circolo and Dansateliers, they were awarded a New Makers Scheme for the period 2020-2022.
In their work they combine circus and dance and human contact is the basis for their partner work. They play with seemingly impossible figures that capture the imagination, while never losing sight of the fragility of being human.
