Groundbreaking dance

Moving Futures is the festival where you can experience dance by the newest generation of makers in all its manifestations. Every year, the festival offers innovative dance in a generously varied programme in nine Dutch cities. Let yourself be surprised by the engaging, daring and barrier-breaking dance makers and performers of today.

Moving Futures Festival is an initiative of De Nieuwe Oost, ICK Artist Space, DansBrabant, Dansateliers, Korzo, Grand Theatre Groningen.

With a nationwide network and a joining of forces with local theaters and partners, the above dance houses strive to make a new generation of choreographers visible on a national scale.

The Moving Futures network shares a vision on how to shape talent development for a new generation of dance makers. It facilitates a critical dialogue that sharpens working methods, identity, thinking and operating. The network and festival function as a meeting place for makers, audiences, programmers and producers. In addition to the programming, the festival offers a rich contextual fringe program that invites the audience to meet the choreographers in various ways. Through focused collaboration with local theaters and various partners, the houses strive to gain visibility and build name recognition for a new generation of choreographers.
